Loves Five Senses

By Lee Ann Alexander

This distance is staggering it drives me insane
To be in love and not see you is not fair to me
your body like perfectly curved and tight
You’re like candy for the eyes and every line is right

The time apart from you is too much to go through
To be in love and not feel you is leaves me without warmth
I feel how smooth your skin is, I feel that body melt
I love the way your love fits me like a glove

The future we have is so bright and filled with promise
To be in love and only hear you when we talk on the phone
That has is bittersweet joy that brings tears to my eyes
How hard to hear you only a foot away then know I have to wait another day

The past that seperated us I remember so well
To be in love and not have your lingering scent on my skin
I remember that scent is what drew me in
You intoxicated me as we danced drawing me in

In days yet to come two shall be one
To be in love and experience the taste of the words “I do”
I touched your heart with words formed over the years
My reward tasting your lips at the altar mixed with tears
